A creative couple and their family made the call to stay in their home and renovate rather than uproot and move away from their neighbourhood. An already beautiful home required some major re-thinking to accommodate larger living areas, an extra bedroom and bathroom.

A collaborative approach with Tim Leveson Interiors yielded a simple solution that kept largely within the existing envelope. The sloping site combined with a generous roof space provided space for a simple split level approach with living areas now spilling directly out to the yard, and a cool loft style bedroom over.

The second level is pushed back from the rear to provide more opportunity for light and a dash of drama. A small 'pop-out' kitchen utilises a wide side setback and combines with a solid 'chimney' at the rear to articulate the otherwise simple extension.
